Determining the proper location of city parking lots using Analytic Hierarchy Process in GIS, case study: Sheberghan city

Locating or determining the proper location of urban parking lots from marginal parks reduces traffic congestion, air pollution, and increases the safety of inner-city travel and people's well-being. Determining the appropriate location of urban parking lots is done using the analysis hierarchy method (AHP) in the ArcGIS environment, which first measures the criteria of access to transportation terminals, the distance from attracting travel, the amount of access to roads, and the value of properties using the analysis method. The ranking and weighting hierarchy in the ArcGIS environment is overlapped using Boolean logic. In this research, to determine the proper location of urban parking lots, aerial photographs were first taken from the USGS site, and the location of the proposed parking lots was examined with the existing parking lots for the detailed plan map of the municipality. At the end, suitable locations in each traffic area have been obtained by combining the final network data model resulting from geographic criteria and traffic criteria. As a result of the cost of building parking lots and the rate of space required for the peak demand of parking in the year, the plan has been proposed in different traffic areas.
