Abstract

In today's world, rapid population growth and climate change have created major challenges for agricultural production, which require the use of new technologies to address. Nanotechnology, as one of the most advanced technologies using nano-scale particles, has been able to create a significant transformation in improving the quality and increasing agricultural yields. The aim of this research is to investigate the role and application of nanotechnology in agriculture and evaluate its impact on increasing agricultural production, improving soil fertility, reducing the use of chemicals, improving plant resistance to pests and environmental pressures, and protecting the environment. This technology improves plant growth, increases soil fertility, reduces the use of chemicals, and improves plant resistance to pests and environmental stresses through nano-fertilizers and nano-pesticides. In this review, recent studies and findings on the application of nanotechnology in agriculture are analyzed to clarify its role in the sustainable use of natural resources and the reduction of negative environmental impacts. This study was conducted in a review format and based on a review of reliable scientific sources. The results of the studies show that the targeted use of nanomaterials can increase the effectiveness of fertilizers and pesticides, reduce agricultural waste, and provide the basis for the production of healthier and higher-quality products. Finally, it is hoped that this study can provide a favorable basis for the effective use of nanotechnology in Afghan agriculture and help increase agricultural production and ensure the country's food security.
